No. BarOS runs in the browser and as an app on any iPad or Android tablet you already own. There is no proprietary terminal to buy or rent, and no per-POS licence.
Card payments need a connection, the same as any terminal. What BarOS protects is a sale you have already completed: a cash or account round is held safely on the device if the server is briefly unreachable, and syncs the moment you are back, so a short dropout does not cost you a sale you already made.
